Have you ever wondered how much sugar is actually in what you eat? Well, Mrs. McClure’s Foods 1 class wanted to find out. Their task was to identify how many grams of sugar the food/drink contained, then convert the grams into teaspoons. Once they measured out how much sugar was in each food/drink item, they put it into a bag with the item next to it. The students were all surprised at how their items, that were supposed to be healthy, had a lot of sugar in it. The average person consumes about 25 grams of sugar a day. So, if you really think about it, you eat a lot of sugar.
