About the student…..

Q: How do you spend your free time?

A: When I find a good book, I spend a lot of time reading it, but lately I’ve been trying to learn French, and that takes up a of time, other then that, I spend most of my free time talking with God.

Q: What are three words that describe you and why?

A: Brave, because there is not much that I’m scared of, and not much that I won’t try to do. Confident, because no matter what I do I’m not afraid to mess up. If I do something that no one else would even try to do, it’s because its really fun, and I’m confident that I’d do it right even if I don’t. At least I tried. Responsible, because I know what’s right and what is wrong. I do my share around the house, I do my own laundry, clean my own room, and get myself up in the morning.

Q: What activities do you do outside of school?

A: I do marching band. It’s not really an “outside of school” activity, but we do most things outside of school, like competitions and football games.

Q: What is favorite holiday and why?

A: Halloween is my favorite holiday because you can dress up to be anything you want to be. It doesn’t matter who you are in real life. On Halloween you can be anyone or anything that you want to be.

Q: If you could go anywhere for free for a week, where would you go and what would you do there?

A: I would probably go to Germany, because I am part German, and I could find out more about my family’s heritage. While I’m there, I would go to as many Holocaust museums as possible. I like learning about that stuff, it’s very interesting.

Q: Who is the one person you look up to the most?

A: The people I look up to the most are my parents, and I can’t choose just one. They both are great role models for everyone, and they give the best advice. They are good Christian people, and try their best to show me every day, that working hard can really pay off.

Q: What is your favorite quote and what does it mean?

A: Philippians 1:27 — “Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of Christ, so that if I come see you, or hear about you, I will know that you stand firm in the one spirit.” This basically means that if you act in a way that Jesus would approve of, then Paul would know that you stand firm in Christ just by hearing about you or seeing you

Q: Who is your favorite teacher, what makes them your favorite?

A: Mr. Huckabee (Huck) is probably my favorite teacher because he gives up a lot of his time for us to make sure that we’re ready for competitions, and he works harder than any teacher I know to make sure that we’re successful.

Q: What drew you to play the flute?

A: Lots of people in my family played the flute in high school. My grandma, my great aunt, and two of my cousins have played the flute in the past.

Q: What has been the funniest moment of your life so far?

A: Me and my youth group went to a Christian summer camp for a few days and we were at our end of the day group session and my best friend said that she complimented a girl on her makeup, and my dad was saying that if you compliment someone, it’s like complementing God, so my other friend said, as an idea for a complement, “God, your makeup is on fleek” and my mom was trying to hide her laughter, but it wasn’t working, so we all started dying laughing for about 15 minutes.
