Art I
The aim of this course is to give the student a clear understanding of the principles of design as well as the art elements and how they apply in solving an art problem creatively. Students work in the media of pencil, pen and ink, tempera, acrylics, printmaking, ceramics, watercolor, charcoal, pastel, and more. There is an art fee for student consumable materials. Prerequisite: None
Art IIMore advanced problems are undertaken with the determining factor being the abilities and interests of individual students. There is an art fee for student consumable materials. Prerequisite: Art I

Pottery I

Many aspects of clay creations will be explored. Offerings will include hand building and wheel throwing methods. Opportunities to pursue, nurture, and realize students own ideas through clay will be high priority. Hand building will include pinch, slab, coil, and sculpting methods. Wheel throwing will consist of creating basic pottery forms, stacked and altered pots, handles and lids, functional and non-functional pottery. Surface decoration, glazing and firing will be taught. Emphasis will be placed on building confidence and quality in creating pottery. There is a fee for student consumable materials. Prerequisite: Teacher interview recommended

Pottery II

More advanced assignments and expectations are required of students. There is a fee for student consumable materials.

Prerequisite: Teacher recommendation required.
