Q: What kind of responsibilities do you have being the president?

A: I help run the student council meetings with the Student Body President, I have to speak at graduation and class day, I get to organize the class reunions in the future, and I work with Chelsey and Mr. Howard to set up events outside of school.

Q: Why did you go for Senior class president?

A: It was my 3rd time on student council and was Vice President my junior year, so I decided to take a shot this year.

Q: Are you in any other extra curricular activities?

A: I am secretary of the National Honors Society, captain of the swim team, and I’m on the yearbook staff.

Q: You said you were on the swim team, is it hard having that much on your plate?

A: Being on a varsity sport, especially as a captain, makes anything else going on in my life hard to balance. Between swim, yearbook & student council, I stay pretty busy.

Q: Does student council help you with anything outside of school?

A: I use the skills I develop as President and incorporate them into everything else I do. I use my public speaking skills to help me out in theatre, yearbook for marketing, and even for presenting projects at school. I learn how to present myself as a professional.

Q: How do you feel about speaking at graduation and class day?

A: I am so excited to speak at class day and graduation because I want to express my gratitude for my past 4 years here, the people who have helped me along the way, my family, friends, and class that have shaped me into the person I am today. I’m ready for the next chapter of my life, but I will always be thankful for high school and what it taught me.
