The FHS Marching Panther Regiment headed out to the Sugar Bowl on December 29, 2019. They arrived in New Orleans at 5 pm. On Monday, the band went to “Battle of the Bands” and they came in 2nd place! Then, the band went to Jackson Square to rock the steps. There were people from everywhere that came to hear the band play their show and pep music. They won seven awards, which were: 1st Place General Effect, 1st Place Music, 1st Place Marching, 1st Place Colorguard, 1st Place Drum Major, 1st Place Class A Band, and won The Best Band Performance in Jackson Square Award!

After that, the band went to the National WWll Museum. On Tuesday, they went to their mass rehearsal and then went to the New Year’s Eve Parade and everyone loved performing! After the parade, all of the students went back and got ready for the masquerade ball to ring in the new year. On Wednesday, the band had a morning mass rehearsal and then went back to the hotel and got ready to pack. Everyone was getting excited because it was the day of the Sugar Bowl! They went and performed for thousands of people! At 12:30am, the band left New Orleans and arrived back home at 12pm.

Congratulations to our awesome band!
