Winter Guard

picmonkey-sampleFranklin High School offers the following course for winterguard.

The Franklin High School Winterguard team was first formed in 2004 by a group of 6 students that had a competitive dream to have winterguard at the high school. They worked long hours and tried to fundraise for a mat to use for their production, but did not meet the financial deadline for the competitions. Instead, the team went to Walt Disney World that Spring and performed in the winterguard exhibition for thousands of guests. Afterwards, not wanting to worry with the financial obligation, they were disbanded after that first year.

As of Fall 2015, the Winterguard unit was revived under the instruction of Mr. Ray Fleenor. The team consists of approximately 18 students. They have worked hard to obtain a show performance mat and uniforms. The FHS Winterguard had their first EVER competition exhibition on January 30th, 2016 at Dorman High School (SC) in CIPA Exhibition. We are very proud and excited that our winterguard program has been revived, and are currently working to pursue a winter drum line team next year.
