Wrestling State Finals

Reiley Green

Branden Berger set the benchmark Saturday, February 15. Not only is he now the first junior to have advanced this far in the State Finals, he did it with class. In his last victory with his nose bleeding, his opponent made an attempt to worsen the bleeding with a cheap shot open hand punch. Brenden took it in stride, kept his cool and dominated the rest of the match, winning 10-2 and showed true class by hugging his opponent at the end (pictured). There is no better way to represent FHS. Berger was seconds away from wrestling for a state title, as his only losses came in the last seconds of each match. finishing 2-2 in the state finals.  Berger has a very bright future ahead!
