Robotics Club






The FHS SMART team is made up of 8-10 students in the 9th grade at FHS. The team will compete in scrimmages with other schools and will compete in one final Regional Competition.

*Applications are due August 30th  for 2016-2017

Three Scoring Portions of the Competition:

  • The robotics portions of the competition is based on how many challenges your robot can complete.

*There are about 12 challenges.

*The students try  and complete as many challenges as they can in 2.5 minutes.

  • The team has to complete a project together by researching and creating a solution to a real- world problem based on any theme chosen.

* Each year there is a different theme.

  • First Lego League (FLL) Core Values are taught throughout the season and focus on how to work as a team. Students will be asked to complete a challenge together as a team and explain how they worked together to solve problems together.

The FHS Robotics team competed at Cherokee Central on Saturday against 42 other teams from across Western NC. Unfortunately they didn’t win the gold, the boys had a great time.
