  • Any student interested in taking the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) should see Mrs. McCall in the guidance office.  This is an excellent test that determines what types of jobs you would be good at.  You do NOT have to be planning on going into the military to take this test.
  • Seniors – check out this scholarship site!!
  • If you are the child of a military veteran and were born in NC go to this link to see if you are eligible for the NC Division of Veteran Affairs scholarship.
  • College Board is offering the opportunity to earn scholarships starting with the class of 2020.  Please visit this link to find out what you need to do to be eligible.
  • Any DACA student interesting in attending college majoring in the fields of computer science, tech, engineering, or something similar should check out the awesome scholarship opportunity at
  • Seniors: want to go to a small school, close to home, with a beautiful campus?  Check out Young Harris College in Young Harris, GA.  They offer an excellent regional scholarship along with perks like books included in tuition.  Open Houses coming up October 20th and December 1st.  Check YHC out at
  • Any senior interested in pursuing a career in criminal justice upon graduation please see Mrs. McCall in the guidance office for information about the NC Criminal Justice Fellows Program or see the brochure posted on the “College Board” outside the main office.
  • Seniors:  If you do a lot of community service through any organization and are interested in applying for a scholarship based on community service please see Mrs. McCall in the guidance office.
  • Seniors:  Have you thought about looking at a college close to home?  Take a look at Brevard College.  Brevard is located in Brevard, NC a short distance from Franklin and has a 1/2 tuition program.
  • Seniors planning to attend Western Carolina University: Charles O. Frazier Endowed Scholarship is available online – Deadline: February 1, 2019. Log into myWCU student portal, click on apply for or accept scholarship link.
