Mrs. Weresuk’s fourth period AP class was working on a science lab earlier this week to determine how wide spread disease outbreaks occur. The class used simulated body fluids for the experiment. Mrs. Weresuk purposely infected two of her students body fluids to help catalyze the spread of the disease. Then the class exchanged the body fluids randomly with their classmates. After the class exchanged the fluids they preformed an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, also known as an ELISA test. They then used the ELISA test to determine if they themselves have been exposed to the contagious disease. Finally, after the class passed the ELISA they would use the class results and try to determine which two class mates were responsible for spreading the disease through the entire class.
