Jenny Collins, the agricultural teacher has two different classes, animal science and horticulture. Her 1st and 4th periods are horticulture and, she has many different kinds of plants growing in her greenhouse throughout the seasons.

Her class goes to Lowes and picks fruits, vegetables and plants out that they would like to plant. They will plant half of the pack first then later on the other half of the pack. Everyday someone will go to water them all in the greenhouse.

The days they don’t go down there are when they are testing or doing PowerPoints on studying the different kinds of plants like how they grow, where they grow, and when they will grow best.

They have recently been doing the following: planting cuttings, transplanting annuals, tilling up the in-ground garden and planting it, transplanting cool weather crops, and working on their hanging baskets.

Mrs. Collins horticulture class also started volunteering at the First United Methodists Church Share and Serve Garden, they are turning compost piles.
